Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 July 2026
These terms are a legal agreement between you and Lantad and govern your use of the Lantad website, the free scanner, the free tools, and the paid plans and one-time services sold through our checkout (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have under mandatory law that cannot be waived, including UK consumer protection law.
1. Who we are and eligibility
Lantad is an AI-visibility scanning service operated from the United Kingdom. The incorporation of Lantad Ltd in England and Wales is in progress; until it completes, these terms are between you and the individual operating Lantad, and the company will assume them on incorporation. You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
2. What the Service does
Lantad fetches a page or robots.txt you specify, analyses what AI crawlers can read, and returns a report, comparison, or tool result. The free Service is provided for your own use in assessing websites you control or are authorised to test. Paid plans and one-time services bought through our checkout are also governed by these terms: payments are processed by Stripe, prices are shown before you pay, and subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the Stripe billing portal, taking effect at the end of the paid period. Hands-on fix work (sprints, retainers, or quoted projects) is additionally governed by the written scope we agree before work starts.
Refunds. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and stop at the end of the current paid period; we do not refund partial periods once used. One-time purchases are not sold with a money-back guarantee. If we fail to deliver what you paid for, contact us and we will put it right. Nothing here is a promise of any ranking, traffic, citation or other outcome, which we never make (see section 4).
3. Acceptable use
This is the most important part. By using the Service you agree that:
- You will only submit URLs and robots.txt for websites and pages that you own or are otherwise authorised to test or scan. You are solely responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions for every URL you submit.
- You will not use the Service to attempt unauthorised access to, attack, overload, disrupt, probe for vulnerabilities in, or circumvent the security of any system or network.
- You will not use the Service for anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful, or in breach of a target site's terms or applicable law.
- You will not scrape, resell, or provide the Service to third parties as your own, nor abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent the rate limits or protections of the Service itself.
- You will not use the Service to disguise, amplify, or automate abusive crawling of third-party sites.
Our own scanner identifies itself honestly and respects robots.txt as described in our crawler conduct policy. We may refuse, limit, or block any request or user at our discretion, particularly where we suspect a breach of this section.
4. The Service is provided "as is"
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular:
- Results are automated assessments that may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and are a point-in-time snapshot only.
- We fetch pages from our own servers with a crawler user agent. A site that verifies crawlers by IP address may behave differently for a real crawler, so a result is evidence, not a guarantee of how any specific AI system will treat your site.
- Lantad does not provide legal, professional, SEO, or business advice, and gives no guarantee of AI visibility, citation, ranking, traffic, revenue, or any other outcome.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
You are responsible for any decisions you make based on a result.
5. Third-party sites and content
The Service fetches and reports on third-party pages that you specify and may link to third-party resources. We do not control and are not responsible for those sites or their content, and inclusion of a result or link is not an endorsement. Your use of the Service in relation to any third-party site is at your own risk and your own responsibility to have the right to do so.
6. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Subject to that:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business, however arising.
- The free Service is provided at no charge, and our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the free Service is limited to one hundred pounds (GBP 100).
- Where you purchase our paid fix service under a separate agreement, our liability for that service is governed by that agreement.
7. Your responsibility and indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lantad from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: your use of the Service; any URL, robots.txt, or other content you submit; your breach of these terms or the acceptable use section; or your infringement of any law or third-party right, including any claim by the owner or operator of a website you submitted without authorisation.
8. API and access keys
If we issue you an API key, keep it confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your key and for staying within any usage limits. We may suspend or revoke a key for misuse or suspected abuse. The API is part of the Service and subject to these terms, including the acceptable use section.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including the Lantad name, brand, site, and software, is owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the Service under these terms. Your reports and the data you submit remain yours; you grant us the limited licence needed to process your submissions in order to provide the Service.
10. Suspension and changes
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these terms as the Service or the law changes; the date at the top shows the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
