# Which platforms can AI crawlers read?

> Sites sampled by the platform they are built on, from Framer and Webflow to Shopify and WordPress, each fetched as an AI crawler sees it and again in a browser, then compared. Per-platform figures, each with its sample size.

## Key facts

- **Sample:** A frame of about 400 sites chosen in advance across 10 platform strata, drawn from public showcases, directories and platform galleries, scanned a few per night.
- **Strata:** Framer, Webflow, Wix and Squarespace, Bubble and no-code apps, single-page apps, Shopify storefronts, WordPress, static site generators and docs, SaaS marketing sites, media and local news.
- **Excluded:** Sites that scanned themselves on Lantad. They chose to be measured, so they are a different population and would describe our visitors rather than the web.
- **What is measured:** One page per site, its home page, fetched with no JavaScript and again in a real browser, then diffed.
- **Publishing floor:** A stratum reports a figure only once at least five of its sites have been measured. Below that it says so and reports nothing.

## Why a chosen sample rather than everything scanned

The live index at /research counts every site measured, including the ones that came to Lantad and scanned themselves. That is the larger number, and it is the right one for 'how readable is what we have measured'.

It cannot answer 'how readable is the web', because the sites that seek out an AI visibility checker are not a random draw of the web. This study scans a list chosen before anything was measured, so the answer is about the frame rather than about our traffic.

## Why platform rather than industry

Whether your words reach an AI crawler is decided by the thing that renders them, not by what your business sells. A Framer marketing site and a Bubble app fail the same way as each other and a completely different way from a WordPress blog, however unrelated their industries are.

It is also the only split a reader can act on. You can change how a page is built; you cannot change what industry you are in.

## The stratum is an inference

Each stratum was drawn from public showcases, directories and galleries for that platform, and those sources are published on the page. Identifying a builder from the outside is still inference, and a site can be rebuilt after it was listed, so a row describes the sites filed under it rather than every site on that platform.

Lantad measures whether AI crawlers can actually read a page: it fetches as a non-rendering
crawler, renders as a browser, and reports the gap. Free scan, one URL, no signup.
